Steelway Fixed Ladders provide a robust and compliant solution for permanent vertical access in commercial, industrial and infrastructure environments. Designed for strength, durability and safe operation, our ladder systems are suitable for high-frequency industrial use and are engineered to meet recognised British and European standards.

Manufactured from high-grade mild steel, structural aluminium or stainless steel, all ladder components and accessories can be finished to suit the environment, including polyester powder coating where specified. The modular design allows for efficient installation while maintaining structural integrity and long-term performance in exposed conditions.

Each ladder is manufactured to precise dimensional standards. The overall ladder width is 605mm, with 525mm between stiles. Profiled rungs measure 50 x 35mm and are spaced at 300mm centres to ensure secure footing. Stiles extend 1100mm above the landing surface to provide safe transition at roof or platform level, and a minimum clearance of 200mm is required behind the ladder in a vertical installation. Where rest platforms are required, these are positioned at intervals not exceeding 6 metres.

Ladder body sections weigh approximately 2.9kg per metre, excluding brackets and fixings, with cage sections at approximately 8.3kg per metre. Systems are rated for single person use with a recommended working load limit of 150kg and are suitable for demanding industrial applications. The integrity and suitability of the supporting structure and fixing method should be assessed by a qualified engineer unless clearly determined by a competent person prior to installation.

Our Fixed Ladder System is designed in accordance with BS 4211:2005 and BS EN ISO 14122-4:2016, alongside relevant HSE statutory guidelines. All components are manufactured by ISO 9001 certified partners, with strict quality control procedures in place to ensure consistent performance and reliability.

Steelway Fixed Ladders are supplied with a 25-year product warranty from date of purchase, subject to correct installation, use and maintenance in line with manufacturer specifications. Inspection and certification are required every 12 months by a competent person to maintain compliance and warranty validity.
