Steelway Access & Safety AOV (Automatic Opening Vent) smoke ventilators are engineered to provide reliable natural smoke and heat exhaust ventilation in accordance with current building and fire safety regulations.

Our SRHE/AOV units are designed to achieve opening angles between 140° and 160°, ensuring effective aerodynamic free area performance for smoke clearance. All units are CE marked and fully tested to EN 12101-2, meeting the required standards for natural smoke and heat exhaust ventilators (NSHEVs).

Each ventilator is operated via a 24V DC actuator system, providing rapid and dependable deployment in emergency situations. Hatch lids are insulated with 50mm CFC- and HCFC-free insulation, achieving a minimum U-Value of 0.43 W/m²K. This delivers high levels of thermal efficiency alongside excellent acoustic performance. Where project specifications require, units can also be supplied with non-combustible mineral wool insulation.

Lids are supported on heavy-duty axle pins to ensure structural stability and durability under operational and environmental loading. An integral wrap-over edge design incorporates continuous, double unbroken EPDM seals, providing enhanced weather tightness and long-term resistance to air and water ingress.
